To use a TENS machine safely, always turn the device off before applying or removing sticky pads, ensure a strong but comfortable tingling sensation without pain, and never place electrodes on the neck, chest, head, or broken skin.
Setup and Application
- Clean skin: Wash and dry the skin area before placing the pads.
- Position pads: Place pads around the painful area at least 1 inch (2.5 cm) apart.
- Pads must never touch each other.
- Adjust intensity: Turn on the machine and slowly raise the dial until you feel a firm, comfortable tingle or buzz. It should never hurt or cause strong muscle jerking.
- Session length: Use for 30 to 60 minutes at a time, several times a day. Turn the unit off before removing the pads.
Safety Warnings and Restrictions
- Never use on: The front of the neck, eyes, head, heart, chest, or across both sides of the torso simultaneously.
- Skin condition: Avoid broken, swollen, infected, or numb skin.
- Activities: Do not use while sleeping, driving, bathing, or showering.
- Medical check: Consult a doctor first if you are pregnant, have a pacemaker, heart problems, or epilepsy.
Storage:
Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat
