Botanical Name: Lavandula Hybrida Sumian
Origin: France
Extraction: Steam distilled
Note: Can be applied directly to the skin or diluted for use.
Comments:
As the name suggests, this plant is a hybrid of Lavandula Officinalis and Lavender spike Lavandula Latifolia Villars. This hybrid yields an essential oil that is harsher and more herbaceous than Lavender Oil in odour, and is also hardier and more resistant to disease. Because of this hardiness and a higher yield of oil, Lavandin is becoming more popular in a commercial sense than Lavender Oil.
