Ayurveda has been using ground rhizome of Turmeric (Curcuma Longa) for centuries and it has acquired an important place in Hindu medicine. Western countries have lately been mainly impressed by the versatile health promoting qualities of one of the most important ingredients of the Curcuma Longa Extract, namely curcumin. There are more than a 1000 articles available about the various characteristics of curcumin.
Turmeric (Curcuma) is one of the main components of curry, an important and essential spice in Middle Eastern cuisine. Turmeric (kurkuma, koenjit) provides a beautiful deep yellow colour, tastes slightly bitter and promotes the digestive system at the same time. Many of the health-promoting qualities of turmeric are accredited to the polyphenol curcumin, one of the main ingredients of Curcuma Longa Extract. Curcumin is poorly absorbed by the body; this has been discovered in studying the properties of this ingredient. The poor absorption is the reason why curcumin is often
used in high doses.
This product contains biocurcumin. Biocurcumin is a complex of curcumin with bioactive curcuminoids, sesquiterpenoids and ar-tumeron from the essential oil of curcuma longa.
This combination has a powerful synergistic effect on curcumin absorption: it increases the absorbability of biocurcumin sevenfold and increases retention time significantly, allowing this substance to stay in the body three times longer.

Use
Take 1 to 3 capsules daily, during or immediately after a meal.
Warning
Do not take during pregnancy or if breast-feeding. Do not use in case of obstruction of the bile duct. Interactions with regular medication and other natural health products may occur. Please consult an expert about this.
