DESCRIPTION
Creatine is a tripeptide made up of three amino acids, i.e. arginine, glycine and methionine. A proper level of creatine in muscle cells is important for the optimal functioning of muscle tissue. Creatine monohydrate aims to optimise muscles. The strength of muscle contractions depends on the amount of ATP, which is the most important energy supplier in the body. Creatine is capable to replenish the ATP-stock as soon as it runs low. Muscle cells absorb creatine with difficulty. However, once absorbed it is retained in the cell for a long time (half-life of 4 to 6 weeks). The best way to get more creatine into muscle cells is to offer large amounts of creatine in a short period of time ("creatine loading"), followed by a longer maintenance period. During this period it is sufficient to take 2 to 3 grams a day to maintain a high creatine stock in the muscle.
Most important features of Creatine monohydrate powder:
- Only pure creatine
- Free from excipients
USAGE
Take one or two measuring spoons (= app. 2-4 grams) a day during or immediately after a meal. Take with fruit juice or another carbohydrate-rich drink.
Begin with taking 10 measuring spoons (= app. 20 grams) a day for 5 days, spread evenly throughout the day. Then take 4 measuring spoons (= app. 8 grams) a day for 5 consecutive days, and then one or two measuring spoons (= app. 2 grams) a day for the next 5 days. Increase dosage if necessary. One level measuring spoon supplies app. 2 grams of creatine monohydrate. A measuring spoon is included.
Do not use before undergoing a renal function test, as the use of creatine can influence the test.
WARNING
Interactions with regular medication and natural health products may occur. Please consult an expert about this.
SYNERGISM
It is useful to combine creatine supplementation with ribose and good quality (muscle) protein (also the main source of creatine in food), as well as the individual amino acids that occur most frequently in muscle tissue, such as glutamine, taurine and the so-called 'branched-chain amino acids' or BCAAs in Bonusan’s BCAA powder and Protein powder.
In addition to this product, a good basic diet is recommended, as is basic supplementation of Multi Vital Forte, Vitamin C 1000 ascorbate complex and Omega 3 liquid (or Omega 3 capsules).
