Coenzyme Q10 (ubiquinone) is a fat-soluble compound that stimulates energy metabolism (ATP synthesis) in the mitochondria of the cell. Coenzyme Q10 is especially concentrated in tissues and organs that use much energy, such as the heart, brain, muscles and liver. In addition, coenzyme

Q10 is a powerful fat-soluble antioxidant that easily moves within membranes and which protects

their fatty acids against free radicals. Because coenzyme Q10 is fat-soluble, it is more easily absorbed when in an oil base. The body itself can produce coenzyme Q10 from the amino acid tyrosine, but

it remains a conditionally essential nutrient. This means that there are several circumstances under which the production by the human body does not suffice. For instance, cholesterol-lowering medication (statins such as simvastatin, lovastatin, pravastatin) cause an increased need for coenzyme Q10.

Coenzyme Q10 supports muscular function and therefore has an invigorating effect on the heart. Partly as a consequence, it has a positive influence on blood pressure. Coenzyme Q10 is beneficial

to LDL cholesterol levels and lipoprotein-a blood levels. It also stimulates the immune system and protects against the effects of aging.

Most important characteristics of coenzyme Q10 50 mg:

• Coenzyme Q10 in an oil base has a higher biological availability
• The oil base consists of extra virgin olive oil, beeswax and lecithin
• 50 mg of stable coenzyme Q10 per capsule

USE
Take 1 capsule once or twice daily during or immediately after a meal. Q10 is best absorbed when taken with food. It is therefore advisable to use this product when consuming a fat-containing meal.

In some cases it may be necessary to increase dosage to 300 or 400 mg per day. It usually takes a while for the effects of coenzyme Q10 to become noticeable. It is therefore advisable to use coenzyme Q10 for at least two months.

Synergism
Vitamin E is an important synergist of coenzyme Q10. Besides taking this product it is also recommended to follow a healthy diet, as well as taking a basic supplementation of Multi Vital Forte, Vitamin C-1000 Ascorbate Complex and Omega-3 liquid (or Omega-3 capsules).
